Founder, President and CEO

Dave Rogers

Dave is the Founder, President and CEO of Amp, responsible for the company’s global vision and strategy. Since founding Amp, Dave has led the company’s significant global growth into a number of markets throughout North America, Europe and Asia. Dave continues to lead the company into the future which will include a diversified portfolio across multiple technologies.

Prior to founding Amp, Dave was head of Carbon markets at Front Street Capital, a leading investment management firm in Toronto with over US $3B of assets under management. He was responsible for originating and deploying capital to global investments in renewable energy as well as facilitating the purchase, sale and trading of carbon credits, both privately and through public exchanges.

Co-Founder & CIO

Paul Ezekiel

Paul is Amp’s Chief Investment Officer and is responsible for all investment and M&A activities and global business development for Amp. Since co-founding Amp, Paul has rapidly expanded the company’s global footprint beyond North America, to markets that now include Europe (the United Kingdom, Spain, Germany, Italy and Poland), Japan, Australia and India, building Amp into a global energy player with deep local expertise. Additionally, Paul is responsible for expanding Amp’s mandate beyond renewable generation (Solar and wind) to include both hybrid and standalone battery storage. The most recent addition to Amp’s technology development platform is green hydrogen and ammonia with 5 projects now being developed across Amp’s global portfolio.

Paul is a 25-year veteran in structured cross - commodity risk, primarily focused in the global energy markets. Having acted as either as principal or developer of energy assets around the world, he was most recently a Managing Director, Energy Trading at Credit Suisse. His experience included the development of or investment in projects or businesses spanning thermal generation, renewable generation (solar and wind), and energy storage (pump and battery).

Paul holds a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degree from the University of Western Australia and Masters of Business Administration from Cornell University.

Max Brault
EVP, Head of Investments

Max Brault

Max leads all aspects of Amp’s investment activities globally, including the organization’s investment governance, asset underwriting, and management of corporate capital fundraising. He is also a member of Amp’s Investment Committee.

Max brings over 12 years of experience in energy finance, with deep international expertise in financing solar, battery storage, and biofuel assets. He holds an MBA degree from McGill University’s Desautels Faculty of Management.

Shawn Wilson
CFO

Shawn Wilson

Shawn was with Amp from 2009 - 2014 and rejoined in 2020 as CFO. Shawn heads up Finance, Compliance, HR and IT. Over his combined tenure at Amp, Shawn and his executive team originated or acquired over 100MWs of solar projects representing over $300M in assets. Shawn also facilitated the US$374M Carlyle Group investment at Amp.

Shawn has held a number of key roles within a broad range of industries including Chief Financial Officer for the Canlift Group of Companies, Co-founder and Chief Financial Officer for Multi-Channel Communications Inc., Chief Financial Officer for Internet Sports Network Inc., and Corporate Controller for Harris Corporation. Shawn enjoys the fast pace culture of high growth organizations and has led the expansion of start-ups including 300% three-year revenue growth at CanLift.

Irene Di Martino
EVP, Head of Amp X

Irene Di Martino

Irene leads the Amp X organization within Amp, focusing on the delivery of smart infrastructure and digital energy products to enable a range of flexibility service offerings to utilities across the world. Irene has over 20 years of experience in the energy sector, with a robust engineering background and an industrially-sponsored PhD in Metallurgy.

Prior to joining Amp, she has spent most of her career to date at Engie where she was a global Key Expert, leading strategic technical programmes to increase the profitability of the Engie centralised generation portfolio. While at Engie, Irene received a number of Innovation awards by contributing to some ground-breaking technology developments in the field of thermal generation. Prior to Engie, Irene worked at QinetiQ on some cutting-edge technical projects for aerospace engines. More recently, Irene was at the World Energy Council leading an international programme on energy blockchain and authoring a report that has been widely referenced across the sector.

Chief Legal Officer

Dan Gormley

As Chief Legal Officer Dan is responsible for providing strategic legal services to Amp’s Board of Directors and Executive Leadership Team, and managing all aspects of the Company's legal affairs.

Prior to joining Amp, Dan was a partner at a major Canadian law firm where he specialized in mergers and acquisitions and financings in the renewables and utilities sectors. He was lead counsel on the first financing of a utility-scale solar park in Canada and on the first major restructuring to be completed in the Canadian renewables space. 

He has been recognized by Lexpert as one of Canada's leading energy lawyers and by Best Lawyers in Canada for M&A and energy.

Chief Operating Officer

Jeff Rogers

Jeff Rogers is Amp’s new Chief Operating Officer and is responsible for providing strategic oversight of the organization’s operations to ensure efficiency and optimal performance.  Additionally, he will lead HR, IT, Communications/Marketing, and Investor Relations.

Jeff has over 25 years of leadership experience in different domains including technical operations, management consulting, digital advertising, and national defense.  Prior to joining Amp, Jeff led operations teams at Meta (Facebook) as the head of Global Product Services and built enterprise services for a scale of over 11 million business clients worldwide.  Prior to that he was the Director of Live Services at Riot Games, leading teams across various global functions including technical operations, localization, payments, customer service, and release management.

Jeff holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the United States Naval Academy and a Masters of Business Administration from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, and he is a veteran of two combat deployments as an F-14D Mission Commander.

Steve Schaefer
SVP, Head of Origination

Steve Schaefer

With over 15 years of energy experience, Steve has been a key member of Amp since its inception in 2009 and has originated over 550 projects and 125MW. Steve is currently the Executive Vice President of Origination and is responsible for all of Amp's Canadian projects and business.

Prior to joining Amp, Steve worked at Direct Energy as the Eastern Canada Director of Sales. Steve helped design and implement Direct Energy Business, a new line of business providing integrated energy solutions to Commercial & Industrial clients. Steve received a B.S. degree in Marketing/Finance from Syracuse University, as well as an MBA Marketing and Finance from the Schulich School of Business. 

 

Jared Donald
EVP, Head of USA

Jared Donald

With over 15 years of experience in the solar industry, Jared leads the US development team. Over the last five years, Jared’s team has developed, sold, built and/or financed over 500 MW of solar PV and energy storage projects in North America. His team is responsible for originating, structuring, financing, building and operating projects that target utility, commercial and agricultural sector opportunities across Canada and the USA.

Before joining Amp, Jared held many senior executive and consulting roles within some of the world’s most prominent solar companies. Jared set up solar module and racking manufacturing facilities in North America, ran a North American solar EPC division and restructured non-core businesses for a global solar developer. He served as the Chair of Board of Directors for the Canadian Solar Industry Association, and is a former member of the Stakeholder Advisory Committee of the Ontario Independent Electricity System Operators (IESO). He holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and an MBA in finance and strategy.

Dean Cooper
EVP, Head of APAC (excl Japan)

Dean Cooper

Dean joined Amp in 2015, leading finance and acquisition of projects and portfolios in the APAC region. Dean has over 20 years of energy finance experience across clean energy infrastructure and utilities in the APAC region. Most recently, Dean announced a landmark project with Amp’s first Renewable Energy Hub combining 1.3GW of solar and wind coupled with up to 540MW of battery storage.

Prior to joining Amp, Dean held various clean energy infrastructure positions including, EVP APAC at First Data Corporation for the Utilities and Smart Grid Division, Head of Cleantech at Investment Bank Ambrian Partners Limited, Managing Partner of a Clean Energy Infrastructure Advisory group and EVP for Energy Storage Company PLL.

Dean has a Masters in Finance from Macquarie University in Australia and a 1st class honours degree in Finance.

Martin Stein
EVP, Head of Japan

Martin Stein

Martin leads the Japan market, leveraging over 15 years of M&A experience and 10 years within the Japanese market. Martin’s experience spans across M&A, leveraged finance and energy project finance.

Before joining Amp, Martin held positions in leveraged finance and was instrumental in establishing Shinsei Bank’s renewable energy finance business in Japan, a team that during his tenure financed 1GW of renewable energy projects. Prior to joining Shinsei Bank, Martin was at ING Bank in London, where he was responsible for M&A and leveraged finance for private equity sponsors.

Martin holds a Master of Philosophy from Cambridge University and a BA from Durham University in the UK.

Head of India

Pinaki Bhattacharyya

Pinaki is the co-founder and CEO of Amp in India. Within a short span, Amp India has emerged as a leader in providing a one stop shop for C&I customers through its powerful combination of utility scale offsite grid connected open access and onsite distributed generation renewable power plants with a pan India presence.

Pinaki has 19 years+ of experience in India, US and Europe across PE, business incubation, leadership, operating and financing roles in the renewable energy. Prior to Amp, Pinaki was the CFO of Sterlite Power, India’s leading transmission player. Additionally, he was the founding team member and CFO of one of the largest renewable IPPs in India (Sembcorp Green Infra) and also the founding team member of the first renewable energy project equity fund in US, New Energy Capital. He has managed the largest and most diversified renewable energy private equity portfolio of USD 300M for IDFC Private Equity. He has worked across the value chain in both renewable and thermal power generation at ALSTOM and Shell-Bechtel venture, Intergen. He is an MBA from Cornell University and B.E. from Delhi College of Engineering.
