Founder, President and CEO
Dave is the founder and CEO of AMP, responsible for the company’s global vision and strategy. Since founding Amp, Dave has led the company’s significant global growth into a number of markets throughout North America, Europe and ASIA. Dave continues to lead the company into the future which will include a diversified portfolio across multiple technologies.
Prior to founding Amp, Dave was head of Carbon markets at Front Street Capital, a leading investment management firm in Toronto with over US $3B of assets under management. He was responsible for originating and deploying capital to global investments in renewable energy as well as facilitating the purchase, sale and trading of carbon credits, both privately and through public exchanges.
Co-founder, CIO and Executive Chairman
As the Executive Chairman and Chief Investment Officer, Paul is responsible for all investment and M&A activities and global business development for Amp. Since co-founding Amp, Paul has rapidly expanded the company’s global footprint into core markets in North America, the United Kingdom, Japan, Australia and India, building Amp into a global energy player with deep local expertise.
Paul is a 20-year veteran of the energy markets, having acted as either a principal investor or developer of energy assets globally. He was most recently a Managing Director on the Energy Trading desk at Credit Suisse. His experience included the development of projects or businesses spanning thermal generation, renewable generation (solar, wind and biomass), energy efficiency, and energy storage (pump and battery). Paul holds a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degree from the University of Western Australia and Masters of Business Administration from Cornell University.
Country Head, Japan
Jun is responsible for overseeing all aspects of Amp’s Japan business. Prior to joining Amp, Jun was Country Manager of Japan at First Solar where he successfully built their platform and secured one of the largest captive PV project pipelines in Japan. Prior to First Solar, Jun was Head of Mergers and Acquisitions, North Asia, for SunEdison, where he oversaw acquisitions, capital raising initiatives, and strategic relationship development. He had regional responsibility for renewable energy markets in Japan, South Korea and Taiwan.
In addition to his career in renewable energy, Jun has over 10 years’ of extensive investment banking experience specializing in real estate investments, advisory, and structured finance at Credit Suisse and Goldman Sachs.
Country Head, USA
Jared’s career includes nearly 15 years in the solar industry as a senior executive at some of the world’s most prominent solar companies, a consultant supporting corporate strategy and government policy development and a board and advisory committee member for industry associations and government entities. Through this experience, Jared’s teams have sold, built and/or financed over 200 MW of solar PV over the last 5 years. This work included own origination and the setup or partnerships and joint ventures targeting utility, commercial and agricultural sector partners across Canada and the USA.
In addition to the project development work, Jared has developed deep relationships and experience in raising and structuring financing for renewable energy projects including tax equity, construction and term debt in the United States and Canada.
Prior to joining Amp Jared setup solar contract manufacturing facilities in North American, ran the EPC division and restructured non-core businesses for a global solar developer, served as the chair of Board of the Directors for the Canadian Solar Industry Association, and was a sitting member of the Stakeholder Advisory Committee of the Ontario Independent Electricity System Operators (IESO). He holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and an MBA in finance and strategy.
Head of APAC – ex Japan
Dean joined Amp in 2015, leading finance and acquisition of projects and portfolios in the APAC region. Dean has over 20 years of energy finance experience across clean energy infrastructure and utilities in the APAC region.
Prior to joining Amp, Dean held various clean energy infrastructure career positions including, EVP APAC at First Data Corporation for the Utilities and Smart Grid Division, Head of Cleantech at Investment Bank Ambrian Partners Limited, Managing Partner of a Clean Energy Infrastructure Advisory group and EVP for Energy Storage Company PLL.
Dean has a Masters in Finance from Macquarie University in Australia and a 1st class honours degree in Finance.
Country Head, Canada
Steve has been working for Amp since its inception in 2009 and has originated over 550 projects and 125 MW. With more than 15 years of experience in the energy and solar industry, Steve worked at Direct Energy from 2005-2009 as the Eastern Canada Director of Sales. Steve helped design and implement Direct Energy Business, a new line of business providing integrated energy solutions to Commercial & Industrial clients. Steve received a B.S. degree in Marketing/Finance from Syracuse University, as well as an MBA Marketing and Finance from the Schulich School of Business.
Steve is currently the Senior Vice President of Origination and is responsible for all of Amp’s Canadian projects and business.
Irene Di Martino
EVP, Head of ampx
Irene has over 20 years of experience in the energy sector, with a robust engineering background and an industrially-sponsored PhD in Metallurgy. She has spent most of her career to date at Engie where she was a global Key Expert, leading strategic technical programmes to increase the profitability of the Engie centralised generation portfolio. Whilst at Engie, Irene also gained a number of Innovation awards by contributing to some ground-breaking technology developments in the field of thermal generation. Prior to Engie, Irene worked at QinetiQ on some cutting-edge technical projects for aerospace engines. More recently, Irene was at the World Energy Council leading an international programme on energy blockchain and authoring a report that has been widely referenced across the sector.
Irene is now leading the Amp X organisation within Amp, focusing on the delivery of smart infrastructure and digital energy products to enable a range of flexibility service offerings to utilities across the world.
Country Head, India
Pinaki is the co-founder and CEO of Amp in India. Within a short span, Amp India has emerged as a leader in providing a one stop shop for C&I customers through its powerful combination of utility scale offsite grid connected open access and onsite distributed generation renewable power plants with a pan India presence.
Pinaki has 19 years+ of experience in India, US and Europe across PE, business incubation, leadership, operating and financing roles in the renewable energy. Prior to Amp, Pinaki was the CFO of Sterlite Power, India’s leading transmission player. Additionally, he was the founding team member and CFO of one of the largest renewable IPPs in India (Sembcorp Green Infra) and also the founding team member of the first renewable energy project equity fund in US, New Energy Capital. He has managed the largest and most diversified renewable energy private equity portfolio of USD 300M for IDFC Private Equity. He has worked across the value chain in both renewable and thermal power generation at ALSTOM and Shell-Bechtel venture, Intergen. He is an MBA from Cornell University and B.E. from Delhi College of Engineering.
Max brings over 10 years of experience in the clean energy sector. During his time at Amp, Max has built the company’s financial modeling, decision tools, processes and investment materials used to underwrite Amp’s international expansion and has played a key role finalizing transactions with Apollo, Caledon and Zoma. Max leads Amp’s Investments Team which is responsible for investment risk underwriting, financial modelling and analysis, and corporate capital fundraising. Prior to joining Amp, he spent 4 years at Enerkem, a leading producer of clean fuels and chemicals from waste biomass. Max holds an MBA degree from McGill University.
EVP, CAO & CFO
As an integral part of Amp’s global executive leadership team, Preet plays a key role in overseeing corporate finance, accounting and project finance initiatives, as well as all administrative areas at Amp’s corporate head office supporting our various strategies globally as we continue our rapid growth.
Preet is an experienced executive with over 25 years’ experience primarily in the financial services, and gaming & lottery industries, and in professional services with Big 4 global accounting firms. Most recently, Preet held the position of SVP & CFO, Global Banking and Markets at the Bank of Nova Scotia (Scotiabank), overseeing Finance teams in Canada, the US, Europe and Asia.
Preet is a Chartered Accountant, and Chartered Director, who holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics & Statistics from Western University, and a Diploma in Accounting from Wilfrid Laurier University.
