WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Amp is looking to add a Development Associate, Governance to join our growing team! Reporting to the Director, Development in Denver this position will help create and implement our processes and collaborate work with a team of subject matter experts and development managers to advance our projects and initiatives. It will require cross-discipline collaboration and coordination with various teams in the planning, development and execution of projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Research and Intelligence

  • Research County, Municipality, and State regulations, bylaws, and ordinances
  • Interpret and clarify AHJ policy and make recommendations to Development Team
  • Chart project regulatory schedules & budgets
  • Create and launch regulatory stakeholder engagement

Permitting

  • Review and approve permit matrices; coordinate materials required for permit submittals
  • Integrate design and land constraints into project site plans
  • Complete and submit permit applications and proactively drive permitting schedules
  • Engage with AHJs; present project proposals and guide permit discussions and processes
  • Oversee and guide Conservation Commission approvals and permit requirements
  • Execute NOIs, PNFs, and agency consultations
  • Create & execute permit conditions trackers; lead efforts for permit updates & reapprovals

Public Economics

  • Research & model taxes, PILOTs, decommissioning requirements, incentive applications, and surety agreements and funds
  • Represent Company with landowners. Attend landowner & community townhalls as needed

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Direct experience in energy infrastructure permitting, and regulatory project management
  • Degree in business, environmental studies, law, or related discipline. Graduate degree preferred
  • Valid US Driver’s license
  • Ability to perform site walks on treed, rocky, & sloped terrain in a variety of weather conditions
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in various stages from conception to commercial operations
  • Strong negotiating, problem-solving, & deal-making skills
  • Meticulous attention to detail in the review, driving, and tracking of complex regulatory schedules
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced ever-changing environment
  • Excellent time management and organization skills
  • Motivated self-starter
  • Ability to track a large pipeline of projects in various stages of development
  • Team player who seeks collaborative solutions
  • Passion for clean energy and the global energy transition
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills
